Escapade and picnic on the Route de l'Eau with PMF/Mutu Alumni
Visit the charming Andalusian medina of Zaghouan, once a refuge for Moriscos fleeing the Inquisition in the 17th century.
Discover the majestic Nymphaeum, the Temple of the Waters built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian. Connected to Carthage by the 130 km-long Roman aqueduct, its springs supplied water to the public cisterns of Maalga and Antonin's thermal baths. Set against a mountain backdrop and surrounded by forest, it is a work of great archaeological value.
Detox and de-stress hikes in the surrounding area. Level: moderate.
Good mountain shoes, or medium or high uppers. Warm, waterproof and windproof clothing.
Picnic on the grass. Bring your own lunch and drinks.
8.40 a.m. Gather at the Total petrol station opposite the El Menzah dome. Organize car pool.
9am: Departure by carpool to Zaghouan. Journey time: 1h (via Jbel el oust)
